The Canal and River Trust

Yorkshire's industrial heritage bequeathed the region's canoeists and kayakers a truly remarkable network of canals and navigable waterways everywhere from the Yorkshire Dales to the centre of the county's finest cities - most of which are now managed by the Canal and River Trust.

In Yorkshire, many individuals, clubs and centres make great use of Canal and River Trust Waterways and the Regional Development Team has been working closely with the Trust on everything from local Canoe Trails to events such as the Leeds Waterfront Festival. 

British Canoeing membership gives canoeists and kayakers based in Yorkshire (or visiting from elsewhere in England) a license to access Yorkshire's Canal and River Trust waterways.
