Wild Water Racing

Yorkshire is home to some of the finest WW racing rivers in Britain...

Olympic Sprint medallist Jonny Schofield started in Wild Water Racing on Pennine rivers... and Yorkshire has a fine tradition of Wild Water Racing. Classics include the Wharfe and the Swale as well as Washburn races - which at one time routinely attracted hundreds of entrants!

Yorkshire born Robert Jefferies (from Pennine Canoe and Rowing Club) is a GB Team representative, and was part of the 2016 Under 23 Team success in Murau, Austria. He and others train in West Yorkshire as part of a regional squad (open to all Yorkshire boaters). Contact David Jefferies of Pennine CRC for details.

Ps. The 2016 GB Open was held at the Washburn: read about it here :)
