Rachel Cawthorn is a 2 x Olympian women's K1, K2 and K4 sprint kayaker competing over several different distances. She is a long standing member of the British senior team and has represented Team GB at both Rio 2016 and London 2012. 2017 saw Rachel take two bronze medals in the K1 1000m, the first in the European Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The second brozne medal was at the World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic. In 2010 Rachel became the K1 1000m European champion and went on to become Britain’s first woman to medal at both the European and World Championship, where she won bronze in the Olympic distance of 500m.

Rachel was introduced to sprint kayaking when she was 15, through a talent identification scheme run by British Canoeing. She loved it straight away and was one of eight selected from 1000.
