Emily Lewis

Sprint - Academy

Emily Lewis made her Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, taking on both the K1 200m and K1 500m on the Sea Forest Waterway. The Worcester paddler narrowly missed on out a semi-final place in the K1 200m, just 0.005 seconds off the top two spot needed to progress.

Emily started the 2021 season strong as she put herself in contention for the team with second place in the selection regatta in April, backed up with a best ever finish at the European Canoe Sprint Championships in Poznan at the start of June.

A K1 200m Junior European bronze medallist, Emily played a key role in the women’s K4 squad before turning her sights back to the individual event. The move to train alongside Liam Heath has paid dividends for the Malvern native.

In 2018 Emily raced in the K4 500m race at World Cup 1 in Szeged and also World Cup 2 in Duisberg finishing 7th in both K4 500m races. In 2017 had several strong finishes, the first at World Cup 1 in Montemor-O-Veho, Portugal, saw Emily take a 5th place in the K4 500m. At the European Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Emily finished 8th place in the individual K1 500m. During the World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic, Emily and her crew of three team-mates took 9th place in the K4 500m race.
