2020 is Dan's first year on the performance programme. Having taken up the sport initially in 2014 after going down to his local club in Reading, Dan made the sport his own in 2016 when he made the decision to give up playing hockey full-time to focus on his paddling career.
The 18-year-old had an incredible year during the 2019 season, where he picked up the Junior World Championship K1 200m title in Pitesti, Romania after a fantastic race where he powered to gold. That result came two weeks after he triumphed in the same discipline at the Junior European Championships in Racice, Czech Republic.
It wasn't just internationally where Dan shone, he also had an incredibly successful National Regatta in 2019, where the junior paddler took home six titles (including two senior) as well as two silver medals.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys trading stocks and is also exploring setting up his own business with a fellow paddler.
