Talent Club Partnership 2021-2025 Racing Clubs
British Canoeing is pleased to announce the launch of the 2021 – 2025 Talent Club Partnership for Racing Clubs. The Talent Club Partnership programme has been developed off the back of a broad consultation process involving a number of stakeholders in the community. The Talent Club Partnership has 7 key ambitions (below) which outline the purpose and direction of the programme:
- To develop the sport from the grassroots upwards, creating opportunities for more young people of any background or any gender to develop within the sport, as well as creating depth in the talent pool throughout the pathway.
To create paid professional coaching roles in clubs to deliver a high quality experience to a breadth of members.
To increase the number of appropriately qualified coaches operating regularly in a club environment and to engage with more coaches in coach development opportunities
To support more clubs to offer quality developmental environments for young people to flourish within.
To improve the collaboration and engagement between clubs locally and develop greater relationships between clubs and British Canoeing.
To develop robust and sustainable finance and business plans that allow clubs to fund paid positions as well as grow and develop.
To create greater clarity and understanding of the talent pool depth by having more regular and robust monitoring measures.
British Canoeing’s England Talent Programme is delighted to announce that after a thorough and highly competitive selection process, five clubs have been appointed Racing Talent Club Partners for the 2021-2025 cycle, see the news article here.
