On behalf of British Canoeing, Paul Ratcliffe and the Slalom Performance Team would like to invite you to a Seminar on Sunday 18th November. Please find below the draft outline plans for the day and the form to register your interest. We would like you to contribute your ideas through the form below to help us further shape the agenda to maximise the learning outcomes for the community.

Presentations

Here are some of the presentations we were considering:

  • An athlete journey - An example of how an athlete transitions through different levels
  • WW skills forum - How do we maximise the white water time and the skills of our young paddlers
  • Strength and power development - developing robust and strong athletes
  • Setting an environment for learning - Course setting and managing individuals
  • Extreme Slalom - future Olympic discipline?

The seminar will be free to attend and will be taking place at Belton Woods Hotel, Grantham. Food and coffee will be available throughout the day.

Timings are still to be confirmed but will probably be 0900 for a 0930 start, finishing around 1700.

Racing Seminar November 2018

After the success of last year’s Racing Seminar, on behalf of British Canoeing, Paul Ratcliffe and the Sprint Performance Team are looking to run a similar event this year on Saturday 10th November 2018.

Please find below the draft outline plans for the day and the form to register your interest. We would like you to contribute your ideas through the form below to help us further shape the agenda to maximise the learning outcomes for the clubs.

  • An update from the Sprint programme linking back to 2017 Seminar
  • Informal coffee conversations
  • Athlete presentations
  • Athlete health robustness and resilience to train
  • Developing the 1000m athlete
  • Learnings at a club off the back of the seminar in 2017
  • The learnings from the S&C coach linking to the Fast Start Strategy?

The seminar will be free to attend and will be taking place at The Oxford Belfry in Oxford. Food and coffee will be available throughout the day.

Timings are still to be confirmed but will probably be 09:00 for a 09:30 start, finishing around 17:00.
