Gaining donations from British Canoeing’s canoe sprint and paracanoe athletes and staff who train at the National Water Sports Centre, Deborah gathered a wider variety of food essentials as well as toiletries, clothes and shoes.

Based in Nottingham, the Friary’s mission is to empower homeless and vulnerable adults to rebuild their lives by offering practical services, advice and emotional support.

They recently launched their winter appeal,  seeking to raise funds that will support the physical and mental well-being of visitors to our centre in 2024.

This is the second year Deborah has rallied round the British Canoeing team at Holme Pierrepont to donate during Christmas.

She said:

“The Friary is a great cause all year round but with the current climate we are really lucky as athletes, we probably take food and warmth for granted, so to be able to do something for people who don't have the same as us is really important.

This is the second year we have donated at this time of year so a thank you to all the athletes and staff who have helped again this year and we will continue to do not just annually but throughout the year.
