British Canoeing is pleased to announce the programme nominations for canoe slalom and kayak cross ahead of the 2024 season.
A total of 22 athletes have been selected onto the British Canoeing Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross World Class Programme for the 2024 season.
The upcoming season will include the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with the first four canoe slalom and kayak cross athletes already announced.
Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross Performance Director, Mark Ratcliffe said:
“It’s great to announce 22 athletes nominated to the World Class Programme for 2024, and it represents a strong squad which is looking towards success in Paris next year, as well as looking ahead at developing athletes towards the next Games at L.A.2028.
2023 was a fantastic year, with success at every international competition at both senior and U23/junior level. This included a home World Championships at Lee Valley White Water Centre where we qualified maximum boat quota spots for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
– Mark Ratcliffe
“It’s been a thorough process to select the 22 athletes and there've been tough decisions to make during athlete reviews over the last month, but that’s reflective of the strong squad that has been announced onto the Programme for next year.”
