Paralympic champion Laura Sugar has received her MBE for services to canoeing.

Laura Sugar receives her MBE at Windsor Castle.

Laura was named on the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list, receiving an MBE for services to canoeing after winning the gold medal at the postponed Paralympic Games in Tokyo following it up with a World Championship win just two weeks later.

She received her medal from Prince Charles at the ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday 8 June.

She said: "It was such a great experience heading to Windsor Castle to receive  my MBE from HRH the Prince of Wales and a very proud moment.

“I feel extremely honoured to receive an MBE for doing something I love and am passionate about, hopefully I can help to inspire the next generation to get involved in sport and activity."
