Applications are invited for an upcoming ICF stand up paddling development camp and two seminars for international technical officials (ITOs).
The development camp will coincide with this year’s ICF SUP world championships in Gdynia, Poland. The camp runs from September 6 to 11, with the entry fee covering accommodation and meals, airport shuttle, board and paddle rental, and entry to the world championships.
The camp is aimed at not only identifying and developing future paddlers, but also equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to return to their own communities and to help SUP grow. It is part of the ICF’s long-term vision to grow and improve the sport by investing in development camps and ITO seminars.
The development camp is open to paddlers of all ages and levels. Participants must be able to swim at least 200 metres without assistance, and are comfortable paddling in open water.
All nominations must come through British Canoeing as the national federation so if you are interested please complete this form by Wednesday 27th July. This opportunity will need to be self funded.
The ITO seminars will be held at both the ICF SUP World Cup in Oklahoma City, USA, and the World Championships in Poland. They will consist of both an online theoretical course and an in-person practical evaluation, and will finish with a final exam and interview. Candidates will be required to report to the competition venue each morning and stay until the end of the competition.
Background knowledge of stand up paddling or experience as an official in another ICF discipline is required. Please complete this form by Wednesday 20th July to express your interest in the ITO seminars. This opportunity will need to be self funded.
