The team who will be representing GB in the World Games 2022, which take place in Birmingham, Alabama, US, from 7th July.
The selected team (see picture from top left) are: Nicole Hudson (Meridian/East End), Lucy Boyce (Meridian/East End), Sara Lanoa-Madden (Ulster/Meridian), Katie Howes (Bridgend/Aberfan/Meridian), Bethan Littlewood (Bridgend), Rhian Griffiths (Aberfan/Kingston), Kirsten Lee Manchester (Wildcats/Kingston), Amira Raoudi Rothe Muhle (Essen/FOA).
The World Games takes place every four years and is the pinnacle arena for all non-Olympic disciplines.
In each sport, teams earn their place at the games through achieving top places in their World Championships.
Due to Covid, Canoe Polo’s last World Championships in Rome was cancelled and so the results from the previous tournament, in Canada, were used.
In Canada, GB Women gained silver position securing their place in this year's Games.
Some of the players from the 2018 World Championships have been re-selected alongside new players to the team.
Coaches Leighton James and Alan Vessey have been working with the squad through the winter months and at international tournaments, in preparation for the Games.
The selected team should be very proud of the place they have achieved and the GB Canoe Polo world wishes them every success.
