BCAB announces the NEW Paddle Safer Course

BCAB has today announced the NEW Paddle Safer course which gives new and novice paddlers the opportunity to develop their safety skills when taking to the water. The course is suitable for all ages and great for individuals, families and groups wanting to expand their safety practices when on the water. The course takes approximately 2 hours and covers equipment, environmental factors, planning and rescues. Read more here.

  • Become a Provider of the NEW Paddle Safer courseBCAB Instructors, Coaches, Leaders and Guides will be able to deliver the NEW Paddle Safer course, by completing the new Provider eLearning package. The eLearning provides 5 CPD points and only costs £10. There is no provider administration fee for courses run and no certification fee.
  • British Canoeing Awarding Body recruit First Aid Working Group: British Canoeing Awarding Body is currently seeking members for a First Aid Working Group to support the BCAB Responsible Officer in their responsibilities for the Awarding Body. BCAB is looking for experts and specialists to help to help shape, advise and provide recommendations around the development of First Aid awards.
  • Paddlesport Coaching and Leadership Conference - Doug Cooper: We are pleased to announce Doug Cooper as the first keynote for the 2022 Paddlesport Coaching and Leadership Conference, taking place on the 12th and 13th November at Eastwood Hall, Nottinghamshire. Doug will deliver 'Putting the ‘YOU’ into coaching: Knowing ‘who’ you are as a coach to support, understand and enhance all you do'.
  • Paddlesport Coaching and Leadership Conference - Emma Atkins: Emma Atkins is the next keynote at the 2022 Coaching and Leadership Conference and will deliver the interactive keynote ''Mentoring – Helping everyone to survive, drive and thrive'. A very applied session, this will involve you as the audience into the art and science of mentoring others, sharing the challenges and rewards this can bring and most importantly, suggesting some ideas of measuring the impact of this process.
