Catch Up with Coaching

This edition includes the NEW Paddle Safer course and an update about Scouts and Stand Up Paddleboarding. We are also pleased to share your opportunity to apply for Canoe Foundation funding, as well as a survey from UK Coaching about the Duty to Care toolkit. 

In case you missed it... we are pleased to announce the Paddlesport Coaching & Leadership Conference will return on 12th and 13th November 2022 at the excellent facilities offered by Eastwood Hall, Nottinghamshire. More details to follow. 

  • NEW Go Paddling Paddle Safer Course: We are pleased to introduce the NEW Paddle Safer course which gives new and novice paddlers the opportunity to develop their safety skills when taking to the water. Instructors, Coaches, Leaders and Guides will be able to deliver the NEW Paddle Safer course by completing the new eLearning package. Full details will be shared towards the end of April, keep your eyes peeled for a special edition of Catch Up with Coaching.
  • Scouts and Stand Up PaddleboardingWorking in partnership with the Scouts, we are pleased to formalise an appropriate qualification structure to support the delivery of Stand Up Paddleboard activity within the Scouting framework.
  • NEW Canoe Foundation funding pot open for applicationsThe latest round of grant funding from the Canoe Foundation is now live. If you have a project in need of funding up to £10,000 for access and environment related improvements, you can apply for grant funding from the Canoe Foundation today.
  • UK Coaching Duty to Care Partner Survey  – Your Opinion Matters: UK Coaching are currently reviewing their existing Duty to Care toolkit, and they need your help to update and enhance the product on offer. It’s important that you use this opportunity to feed into the development of this vital piece of work, with the result being that UK Coaching can improve support for coaches in critical topic areas, including Safeguarding, Diversity and Inclusion.
