Across the winter period, the British Canoeing coaches will be delivering a series of training days for both athletes and their club coaches. The camps will provide development opportunities for athletes and foster an environment for coaches to share good practice.
The days will have a specific focus on crew boats, in preparation for the 2022 season. Athletes will train together to develop their technique, individual and crew boat skills, and further their understanding of racing. Specific workshops will also be provided covering a range of relevant topics.
We warmly welcome club coaches working with athletes at this level to attend, so that we can all share our experiences, knowledge and understanding, and our skill of delivery.
The first three training days will take place on 8 January at Holme Pierrepont (HPP), February (date and location to be confirmed) and 5 March at HPP. There will be a maximum of 24 places for each day and priority will be given to athletes in the following order:
Have qualified and become part of the World Class Programme, or:
Have achieved a Canoe Sprint World Class Programme matrix result, or;
Achieved a Junior or U23 World or European Championship Final
Qualified to the Junior or U23 European or World Championship team, or;
Achieved a National Championship Final.
Evidence of being on track to achieve inclusion on an U23 team in the current Olympic cycle and have demonstrable evidence of progression.
To express interest in being included within the January day, please complete the application formby Monday 13 December 2021.
Further information relating to the content and delivery of the day will follow, once places are confirmed.
