British Canoeing is pleased to announce that the Paracanoe Talent Academy Programme will be launching in January 2022.
The Paracanoe Talent Academy is part of the England Talent Programme. The Academy will see up to 12 athletes invited to take part in training camps at Holme Pierrepont (HPP), Nottingham on a monthly basis.
Each month, a two day training camp will be held at HPP where athletes in the academy will take part in water and land based sessions, as well as educational based workshops.
The Academy, which is supported by Backing the Best, has been set up in order to help athletes continue their development along the Talent Pathway.
Athletes who have achieved 125% GMT within their respective classification will be invited to join the Academy, whilst athletes who wish to get involved but have not yet achieved this are encouraged to register their interest. Upon registering a member of staff will be in touch.
Athlete’s on the Academy will have the opportunity to:
Engage with the coaches and provision provided at the High Performance Centre (HPC), the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham.
Attend and take part in regular training camps hosted at the HPC, with a mixture of water based, land based and classroom based sessions.
Have the opportunity to get quantitative feedback during the training camps over a number of performance metrics in order to help inform your personal training.
