The British C1 paddler will join Tokyo Olympic gold medallist Jiri Prskavec as the two slalom representatives alongside a number of athletes across the disciplines, with the task of helping to shape the post-pandemic future of ICF paddle sports.

Eilidh has been an international slalom paddler since 2012 and has competed on the senior circuit from 2014, where she won silver at the Lee Valley World Cup.

Having suffered a shoulder injury in 2018, Eilidh set up Slalom Inspires a non-profit organisation run by volunteers that is aiming to inspire and empower girls into canoe slalom.

Speaking of her appointment, Eilidh said:

"I'm delighted to become one of the canoe slalom athlete representatives on the ICF athlete commission. I love our sport and the people in it. The canoe slalom community is this tight-knit group of people who genuinely care about each other, and making our sport as good as it can be."

I know that we’re passionate about creating a sport that inspires more people and shapes more lives, just as it has shaped ours. It is because of this that I wanted to apply for this role. I am an advocate for uplifting the voices of individuals and I believe that we all play an integral part in shaping the future of our sport.
