Canoe Sprint will be part of the 2022 Multisport European Championships as future competition venues confirmed

It has been announced that Canoe Sprint will be part of the 2022 Multisport European Championships, set to be held in Munich, Germany.

Run during August 2022, the Munich Multisport European Championships will be the second time the competition has been held, with the inaugural Championships held in 2018 across Berlin and Glasgow.

Canoe Sprint has been added to the programme for the first time in Munich, joining the likes of athletics, rowing and cycling. The competition will take place between 17 and 21 August.

There has also been some updates to the 2021 ICF calendar following the disruption to the 2020 calendar due to COVID-19. For Canoe Sprint, the next round of Olympic Qualifying will now take place in Szeged, Hungary whilst the final opportunity for Olympic Qualifying will be hosted in Barnaul, Russia from 20–23 May.

The final Paralympic Qualifying stage will also take place in Szeged, Hungary between 12-16 May 2021.

A Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe European Championships will now run between 10-13 June in Duisburg, Germany.
