Crew Boats and Juniors Gear Up for Season Opening Regatta

The canoe sprint racing season kicks off this weekend on 30-31 March, with the first National Sprint and Paracanoe regatta of the year taking place at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.

A number of world class athletes will take to the water across the two days, with senior & U23 crew boats, as well as junior individual boats racing to secure their places on the Great Britain team for the upcoming international races. 

The country’s best club athletes will also be taking to the water in a bid to come out on top in their age categories.

This weekend, British Canoeing will be trialling a new live events blog to run alongside our social media coverage of the first sprint regatta of the season. 

Working alongside the Sprint Racing Committee, the blog will feature results and much more from the event.
