The K2 specialist will be teaming up with an in-form Tom Lusty in the 500m event, in what is set to be his final competitive season before he takes up the Head of Performance and Pathways role at the Scottish Canoe Association full time.

Girls for Gold graduates Chloe Bracewell and Katie Reid secured their spot in the Women’s C2 500m, an event which will make its debut in Tokyo 2020.

The K4 crews will include a mix of experience and youth with two of the four crews coming from the U23 age groups.  The senior men’s team comprises Mathew Bowley (Burton Phoenix),  Matthew Robinson (Cardiff), Lewis Fletcher (Scottish Performance Squad) and 2017 K1 200m World Junior Champion, Ieuan James.

Hannah Brown (Wiltshire Youth), Emily Lewis (Worcester), Deborah Kerr (Scottish Performance Squad) will be joined by Sam Rees-Clark this year in the women’s K4 500m.

The pairing of World K1 5000m champion Lizzie Broughton along with Emma Russell (Chelmsford), the 2018  Junior World  bronze medallist in the K1 500m, offers an exciting prospect for the women’s K2 500m.

There were some fine displays of paddling in the Junior ranks as they competed for individual spots for the ECA Junior European and ICF Junior World Championships.

Standout performances came from Reading’s Daniel Atkins, who has qualified for both the K1 200 & 500m events and Alix Aitchison who claimed top spot in the Girls C1 200m and 500m events.

The senior crews have been selected to race at the first two ICF World Cups and their results there will determine selection for the Senior World Championships which will be held in Szeged, Hungary in August.

The U23s crews have been selected to compete at the U23 & Junior European Championships in July in Racice, CZE and the Junior/U23 World Championships in Pitesti, Romania in August.

The selection event for the senior and U23 individual events will take place on April 27/28 at Holme Pierrepont, alongside the Junior crew boat selection.
