Britain’s top sprint and paracanoe athletes will be taking to the water at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham this weekend, with places on the British senior team at stake for the upcoming international season.
Reigning Olympic champion Liam Heath will be looking to claim his spot in the K1 200m, the event in which he previously held the grand slam of titles having won gold at the 2016 Olympic Games, 2017 ICF World Championships and the 2017 European Championships.
The paracanoe events will be stacked with world-class talent, and in particular the men’s VL3 will be a race to watch with a lineup that includes 2018 World bronze medallist Jack Eyres and European Champion Dave Phillipson. The 2017 World bronze medallist Martin Tweedie and Paralympic KL2 bronze medallist Nick Beighton will also be in the mix alongside Stewart Clarke and Stuart Wood who will be looking to make their mark on the international racing circuit.
