British Canoeing, in partnership with Leighton Buzzard Canoe Club, are delighted to be running a racing skills day on Saturday 19 May 2018 at the Bedfordshire based club, following a successful skills day at Reading Canoe Club in January.
The idea of the skills programme day is to encourage athletes who love to paddle in sprint, marathon, WWR, paddle ski and other race disciplines to develop their skills in different environments whilst meeting paddlers and coaches from across the country.
The programme days look to bring coaches, athletes and parents together to share knowledge which will better inform and aid the growth of young paddlers in a fun and inventive way. The weekend also provides networking opportunities and with many different ways to develop talent within the sport, it gives attendees the opportunity to share information from different disciplines and perspectives.
Racing skills is open to coaches, parents and athletes who wish to compete in racing kayaking or canoeing. It will mostly be aimed at U13 upwards.
To register interest in this day please use the online registration form.
Any questions relating to the racing skills day should be directed to Owen Shephard (England Regional Pathways Coach and Sprint Futures – Canoe Sprint (South East)) ([email protected]), or contact Daniel Thompson ([email protected]) for any administrative questions you may have.
