The medals came thick and fast across the four-day event, with the competition taking place on the Cunovo course in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The senior women's team picked up five medals, including three gold medals in the Sprint, Slalom and Downriver disciplines, leading them to take the gold in the overall standings.

Fieke Reijntjes, captain of the women's team, said: "We are really pleased with our performances and defending our title. We've now put ourselves in the mix as one of the best rafting nations in Europe along with the teams from Russian and Czech Republic.

"Last year, we put a lot of time into our technical slalom technique and this year have made a real focus on backing that up with physicality. We've been working really hard in the gym and it's great to see that our hard work has paid off.

"We're excited to see where this preparation takes us at the World Championships later this year. We were really close to a clean sheet and that just keeps us motivated to keep working towards our goals.

"What is also pleasing to see is the strength and depth of the British teams. This was the most amount of teams we have ever fielded at one major championships and that is really positive."

Elsewhere the Open Men's team enjoyed a haul of medals too, picking up five including the silver medal overall.

Overall there were 13 British teams taking part and won a total of 24 medals. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
