The C1 athlete had a strong 2017, with the 25-year-old picking up his first individual senior medal after winning a bronze medal during World Cup 3 in Markkleeberg.

He followed up his third place with another podium finish at the World Championships in Pau, claiming a silver medal in the C1 Team event alongside fellow senior C1 team members David Florence and Ryan Westley.

The accolade for Adam was part of an evening when sporting underdogs, champions and tireless workers behind the scenes were heralded in the city of Stoke-on-Trent.

Adam attended the evening shortly before heading to Prague as the senior slalom squad prepare to take on the European Championships.

The Canoe Slalom European Championships commence 1 June – to keep up-to-date with how Adam and the rest of the squad fare, keep an eye on the British Canoeing social media channels and website.
