British Canoeing are delighted to announce Tim Lodge has been elected as chair of the International Canoe Federation Athlete Committee.
Tim will chair the ICF Athlete Committee consisting of eight representatives, and his election also provides him with a position on the ICF Executive Board and Board of Directors.
The role of Chair was voted for by his fellow members of the committee, of which Tim was appointed on earlier this year.
Involved in the sport from an early age, Tim has had a successful time across numerous disciplines including canoe marathon, sprint and paracanoe, where he medalled in a number of national and international competitions.
He has previously been the athlete representative with British Canoeing and a member of the British Athletes Commission.
Tim’s knowledge of all aspects of paddle sports is backed up by a love and passion of the sport in general.
Tim said: "Initially, I was really pleased to be elected as a member of the Athletes Committee at the ICF, but to now have been elected as the Chair is quite simply amazing and a real honour.
"I would like to thank British Canoeing, Liam Heath, Ivan Lawler and Paul Dimmock for their valued support in my nomination and also my fellow committee members for voting for me as the new Chair."
He continued: "The committee is made up of eight incredibly talented athletes from all areas of our sport and I cannot wait to get to know them all and help to provide the support our athletes need across all disciplines of the sport we are all so passionate about.
"The role of Chair provides a real opportunity to represent all athletes' voices."
