Six new canoe trails have launched across England with four trails on the River Exe, one trail on the River Wear through Durham, and one for the nature lovers on the Peak Forest Canal on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District.
The trails add to the 132 trails already registered on the British Canoeing Canoe Near You section, with 138 trails now registered and more added every month.
These new format trails which launched earlier this year, include a geographically accurate illustrated maps, detailed written descriptions; licensing and membership information for each specific waterway plus access to a GPX file where people can download the trail straight to their sat nav’s or watches for accuracy when undertaking the trail.
It is hoped they will encourage more people to paddle in new, exciting locations across the whole of the UK and provide paddlers with the information they need to enjoy their time on the water. All canoe trails on the website* can be paddled with a British Canoeing membership.
*all trails can be paddled with British Canoeing membership unless otherwise stated. Please consult the 'licensing information' on each PDF for further details.
