Second Place for Mallory Franklin at BT Sport Action Woman Awards

Congratulations to Mallory Franklin who came second at this year’s BT Sport Action Woman Awards in a ceremony held at the BT Sport Studios in London.

Mallory Frankin Bt Sport Awards

It has been a spectacular year for the canoe slalom athlete, taking home her first senior World Championship gold medal, after a thrilling run during the C1 final in Pau giving her a fantastic victory.

Success in Pau continued as Mallory walked away with the C1 Team gold with fellow athletes Kimberley Woods and Eilidh Gibson.

Earlier in the year, the Windsor paddler also shone at the U23 World Championships in Bratislava, where Mallory won three medals for her excellent performances, including gold in the C1 event, as well as a silver medal in the K1 discipline.

In what was an illustrious evening to showcase an outstanding year for women’s sport with inspirational individual and team performances, Mallory was beaten to the award by England Lioness striker Jodie Taylor, who won the Golden Boot at the UEFA women’s Euro 2017.

British number one tennis player Johanna Konta took third place in the awards.

The BT Sports awards, now in their fifth year, celebrated the ten most exceptional sporting performances by British female athletes throughout 2017.
