National Water Sports Centre To Host Paddling Bonanza
On the 3rd and 4th of June, the National Water Sports Centre in Nottinghamshire is once again hosting Paddle in the Park!
For just £5.00 entry per day, Paddle in the Park is the perfect chance for local residents to come along and try a new water sport.
Offering a weekend full of different events to try, Paddle in the Park features includes; stand up paddleboarding, have a go kayak and canoe sessions, and more water and land activities. There will also be paddle tours and raft racing.
Suitable for all ages and abilities, this year is going to be bigger and better than ever, with a white water racing demo, a live band to keep the atmosphere lively, as well as food and drink on site, including the super popular hog roast.
With extreme slalom and freestyle competitions alongside coaching clinics, there will be something for everyone. All abilities are welcome to take part in this extravaganza; from newcomers to the sport, to experienced paddlers.
Getting underway at 9am, Paddle in the Park is part of National Go Canoeing Week, giving participants a chance to get on the water and take part in the annual event.
National Go Canoeing Week is British Canoeing’s initiative which aims to get everyone out on the water having fun, regardless of ability or age. This year is ‘The Big Adventure’, which encourages everyone to be part of their own big adventures during the week.
The week itself will be held during May half term (27 May - 4 June).
It is designed to provide a real focal point to attract new people into the sport, experienced paddles to find new places to paddle and stimulate those who really like a challenge to think big and achieve something special.
