5 new canoe trails launched by British Canoeing

After the initial set of 10 'new-look' trails successfully launched back in July, British Canoeing are now pleased to unveil a further 5 trails that have been re-developed for your enjoyment.

These 5 new trails include 3 fantastic paddles along the Basingstoke canal; a largely lock free section of canal packed with features such as wooded heathland, an aerospace centre and army barracks, continuous tow paths for those who want to walk or cycle alongside and various length options for beginners and more advanced paddlers alike.

The River Coquet trail also features a 4.7 mile tidal paddle past 12th century Warkworth Castle, while the Broads Barton trail offers a somewhat more leisurely 13 mile paddle past abandoned canals, wide expanses and windmills! Take a look at the gallery below for the basic trail information, and don't forget to download the PDF's before you paddle for all the information you need about licensing.

Don't forget, you can find all our current canoe trails by searching our 'canoe near you' map.
