When will I receive my licence?
Your membership card will arrive in 5 to 10 working days. Please get in touch if you have not received your licence within a month of joining.
How long does my membership last?
Membership lasts for 12 months from the date you join.
How can I change my details?
Please login to your membership area using your membership number and password. You can update your personal information here. Alternatively, you can call or email Membership Services to do this for you. We send out Canoe Focus by post and monthly e-newsletters to the details you provide so please keep them up to date.
What am I insured for?
You are insured for Combined Liability Insurance to a limit of £10 million in case of an incident resulting in damage to property or another person.
Does everyone in the boat need to be a member?
The principle of the licence is that the canoe/kayak which a member is paddling is licensed on the water so long as the member is actually in the canoe/kayak. The member may take non-members passengers; however the canoe is unlicensed, if the member is not on board. Passengers do not have third party insurance.
I have lost my licence, can I get a replacement?
You can get a replacement licence if you have lost your licence. There is a charge of £5 for this. Please call Membership Services on 0845 370 9506 .
I have tried to join but it didn’t go through, what should I do?
On the odd occasion our systems will not work. Please call Membership Services on 0300 0119 500. We will be happy to help you out.
Do you do a day membership?
We do not supply day membership/licences.
How can I update my membership details?
You can update your membership details by clicking here. The 'sign in' option for members will be visible on the top right. Make sure you have checked your membership preferences and your contact details are up to date to get the most out of your membership.

If you are not able to login, please follow the Forgot Password process.
Your British Canoeing ID is your membership number. An email will be sent to the email address we have on your record.
If the email does not arrive, or if your email address has been changed, please email [email protected]. Please include your name, date of birth and the email address to be used.
We will update your record and you can follow the Forgot Password process.
