Grants & Funding

Grants are the perfect way to improve your club’s activities, membership, equipment or facilities. The good news is that there are plenty of organisations out there who offer grants, and who are always on the lookout for projects to fund. If you can make sure your club is organised and ready to take advantage of this support, you will improve your chances of receiving funding.

We’re here to help you secure funding

Because grant-providing organisations have different criteria and objectives, we can help you ensure that your project firstly meets the needs of your club and secondly is appropriate to a funding organisation that supports your aims. If you are unsure your regional Canoeing Development Officer can advise.

Here are some popular grants and ways to find out about what funding is available:

1. Small Grants Fund – Sport England Grants of £300 - £10,000.

A quick and easy application process to fund new activities which help more people go canoeing. Projects need to be delivered within one year of the grant award.

2. British Canoeing – Funding directory.

British Canoeing provides a continually updated grant finder service. This identifies national and local grants in the area where your club is based. You will need to enter your email address and set up a password to access this site.

Other support available

Other agencies offering support and advice on funding are your local council’s Sport Department and your County Sports Partnership.
