Policies & Procedures

Safe Operating Procedures and Policies are essential part of ensuring your club is run a safe and responsible way. Different clubs, premises, membership profiles and local waters will all require differing levels of safety planning and organisation. British Canoeing required all clubs to submit the following essential policies when affiliating to British Canoeing:

  • Club Constitution
  • Club Standard Operating Procedures
  • Club Health and Safety Policy
  • Club Risk Assessment
  • Club Safeguarding Policy

Alongside these policies British Canoeing also recommended that clubs have the following policies in place. These will ensure your club is following good practice and may also help you gain approval when applying for grants and funding.
