Whatever your level of canoeing ability, whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced paddler, a Go Canoeing Guided Tour provides a great way to get on the water and head out on a canoeing adventure. You have a huge choice of boats to try on different tours, from the laidback traditional Canadian canoe to the freedom of sit on top kayaks.
The tours offer a great day out for adults or families and give you the chance to explore new places, meet like-minded people and escape the daily grind. Each tour is led by one of our specially trained Tour Guides, who are passionate about sharing their love of canoeing and their knowledge of the local sights, history and wildlife.
Whether it’s enjoying the serenity and beauty of Lake Windermere or paddling past iconic London landmarks on the Thames, our tours are chock full of interesting things to see and will provide you with a great experience. We are continually working to develop tours from new locations so if you can’t currently find a tour near you keep an eye on the website, as we will update it as and when new tours come in.

Equipment & Clothing
All our tours provide safety equipment, paddles and canoe/kayaks. Many of the tours will also allow you to bring your own equipment if you wish. It is recommended you check this with the tour organisers before booking. The main thing for you to think about is what to wear, we recommend wearing comfortable light clothing, such as tracksuit bottoms or leggings (ideally not jeans) and layered tops, as well as any water/windproof top and a pair of old shoes which you don’t mind getting wet.
To ensure our tours are delivered to a consistently high standard, only providers who meet our British Canoeing Activity Quality Mark standards are able to run Go Canoeing Guided Tours.
We are keen to build up a network of locations from which we offer tours, so if you are an activity centre or provider that is interested in running Go Canoeing Guided Tours please click here to find out more information about how to get involved. Our Guided Tours offer the opportunity to get out and about with others. Most tours will be accessible to people with a range of impairments and Go Canoeing providers will be more than happy to discuss any specific needs you may have. If you have a disability and would like to take part in a Guided Tour, please look at the specific tour information to see what facilities are available.
