British Canoeing have selected the Providers for the Paddlesport Leader Award, who will undertake their training over the next few months, ready to run the Award from the 3rd April 2017.
Applications for the role of Paddlesport Leader Provider for 2017 have been selected. Applications have been considered against the wider British Canoeing requirements, as well as against a more specific workforce plan for England. Further details can be found in the Paddlesport Leader Provider Requirements and Role Description.
Paddlesport Leader Providers need to have current knowledge in terms of theoretical and practical delivery as well as having a solid multi-boat based background and solid experience of Stand Up Paddleboard activity. Providers should be prepared to commit to the delivery of a minimum of 4 courses per year. Additionally, British Canoeing is looking to encourage new Providers into the Coach Educator role and we particularly welcome interest from female coaches.
Candidates invited to attend training will be required to successfully complete both theoretical and practical aspects.
Applications have been considered during the latter part of November 2016 and initial offers made to prospective providers during the first week of December. If the application is successful, a training/orientation fee of £250 will apply to secure your place. This fee includes training, orientation and support through to final sign off.
