This three hour classroom-based workshop has been developed for Level 1 Coaches and Club Volunteers who have contact with Disabled members/participants.
The aim of the module is to modify attendees’ perceptions of people with disabilities, their attitude towards this sector of the population and to consider how they may adjust their coaching / approach to be more inclusive.
Our online 'Introduction to Disability Awareness' eLearning will give you an insight into the different types of disability, acceptable terminology and what you can do to help.

By the end of this workshop participants should have achieved the following learning outcomes:
This is a land-based module delivered in three hours of contact time.
Participants should be prepared to participate in practical activities as part of this course. The Paddle-Ability Foundation Module is an attendance course and there is no formal assessment.
On completion of the Paddle-Ability Foundation Module the course provider will submit successful participants for certification.
British Canoeing will then issue an attendance certificate subject to a certification fee of £5 for British Canoeing members or £10 for non-members.
