2019 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup - London

14th June - 16th June 2019

In April 2017 British Canoeing won the bid for the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup event for 2019. Following this, the bid for the 2020 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships was also secured.

Both events will be held at the Lee Valley White Water Centre. This fantastic venue hosted the slalom competitions at the London 2012 Olympic Games where Team GB claimed gold and silver medals in the men’s C2 slalom.

The Centre has previously hosted a World Cup event in 2014 and the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in 2015.

Both bids have been fully supported by UK Sport and Lee Valley Regional Park Authority as part of British Canoeing's international events strategy.

David Joy, chief executive of British Canoeing says:

“I am delighted that British Canoeing is hosting the ICF World Cup and the ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. To have been awarded three international events clearly demonstrates the quality of our bids, as well as our willingness to work with key partners and the canoe disciplines to bring international competitions to the UK.”
