Become a Course Provider
The following section outlines information for those wishing to become Course Providers and the roles that British Canoeing are currently recruiting for.
It is acknowledged that individuals working towards becoming a Provider have different levels of experience, knowledge and skills. It is recommended that a development plan is considered to gain experience, working with different Providers and in different environments prior to submitting an application. For anyone new to providing British Canoeing awards, it may be useful to construct a development plan with a more experienced Provider or a National Association Trainer.

Become a Performance Coach Facilitator, Mentor or Assessor
As we prepare for the launch of the new Performance Coach Award, we need to recruit Facilitators, Mentors and Assessors to support our delivery aspirations. We welcome applications from women and minority groups who are currently under-represented in our Performance Coach Developer team.
Being involved in the development of performance coaches is demanding, but also very rewarding as you will be directly supporting, mentoring and assessing Performance Coaches who go on to, coach and develop paddlers and support their aspirations.

- Applications open: 1st October 2019
We will process applications as they are submitted. It is essential that you discuss your application with and seek the permission of your references before submission.
- Application deadline: 30th October 2019 (12:00 (noon))
- Application decisions: By 8th November 2019
Application decisions will be sent via email (unless agreed otherwise). If successful your offer will be conditional, based on attending an orientation successfully and completing any agreed action plan within an agreed timescale.
If successful, applicants are required to attend the following Orientation event:
- 24th February 2020 - Facilitator Training
- 25th February 2020 - Mentor Training
- 26th February 2020 - Assessor Training
Paddlesport Instructor and Coach Award Recruitment
Recruitment phases for Paddlesport Instructor Tutors will take place in April 2020 for an Orientation in July 2020, as well as a recruitment phase in April 2021.
Recruitment phases for Coach Award Tutor and Assessors will take place in March 2020 for an Orientation in July 2020 and May 2021 with an Orientation in July 2021.

Become a Moderate Water Leader Provider
The role of a Leader provider is rewarding, demanding and critical to the development of the sport; you play a key role in the development of independent paddlers, Instructors, leaders and coaches.

Applications to become a Sea, Surf, Canoe, White Water Kayak or White Water OC1 Leader provider are accepted year-round, you can apply by booking on to an orientation course through our event booking system. The application form is part of the booking process.
Paddlesport Leader and Guide Module Providers
Recruitment phases for Paddlesport Leader Providers will take place in April 2020 for an Orientation in July 2020 and April 2021 with an Orientation in July 2021.
The next recruitment phase for Guide Module Providers will be in April 2020 with an Orientation in July 2020, as well as April 2021 with an Orientation in June 2021.

Become a SUP Discipline Support Module Provider
The British Canoeing SUP DSM Providers role is to support the development SUP knowledge and understanding of coaches who want to expand their coaching to Stand Up Paddleboarders.

Personal Performance Awards
Every Instructor, Coach, Leader, Bell Boat Helm and Raft Guide will be able to run some of the new Personal Performance Awards. All Providers will need to complete the Provider eLearning package which takes approximately an hour to complete.
The eLearning provides 3 years’ CPD, as well as completing the British Canoeing Assessors Training Course and will cost £15. On completion of the educational package, the provider will be sent an electronic document of the eLearning for further reference, as well as a British Canoeing Provider logo they will be able to use in their promotion and marketing of running the awards.
Become an FSRT Provider
The British Canoeing FSRT Provider role is to support the development of the paddlers, helping to raise safety awareness across our community.

Become a WWSR Provider
The British Canoeing WWSR Provider role is to support the development of the paddlers, helping to raise safety awareness across our community. Being an WWSR Provider is demanding, but also very rewarding as you will be directly supporting and mentoring paddlers, coaches and leaders who go on to safely introduce thousands of people to our sport and the diverse environments.
Applications to become an WWSR providers are accepted year-round, you can apply by booking on to an orientation course through our event booking system. The application form is part of the booking process.
