Becoming a British Canoeing Provider

The following processes are to provide clarity for non-UK resident coaches wanting to become providers of British Canoeing qualifications and awards.

International Coaches Becoming Providers

Any non-UK resident coach wishing to become a British Canoeing Provider needs to be a member of British Canoeing or the Home Nations.

Request a Provider Logbook: Any non-UK resident coaches wishing to work towards becoming a British Canoeing Provider must hold the appropriate prerequisites and then request a Provider Logbook from British Canoeing International.

Attend a Provider Orientation Course: Provider Orientation Courses can be booked through the British Canoeing Course Provider Development Programme

Consolidation/Experience: Aspirant Providers should work on a variety of relevant programmes with different Providers, acting as an observer, assistant and lead deliverer.

British Canoeing Final Observation for Provider Status: Once all actions have been completed and an appropriate number of courses delivered, aspirant providers must send their completed logbook into British Canoeing International. An appropriate final observation can then be allocated by British Canoeing.

International Prices & Documents

British Canoeing fees differ for UK residents and and international residents.  While British Canoeing is keen to see the continued development of paddlesport worldwide and support members working overseas, it must be recognised that British Canoeing and the Home Nation Associations are financially supported by the various UK Sports Councils and commercial companies alike. It would be inappropriate to use that funding to subsidise other paddlers outside of the UK. In addition, there are additional costs associated with posting registration and certification materials to overseas addresses.
