AGM 2022

British Canoeing has confirmed the date for the 42nd Annual General Meeting as Saturday 12 March 2022.

The AGM is a formal meeting of British Canoeing members, providing an opportunity to review the work of the organisation over the past 12 months, to discuss and approve the organisation’s finances, current progress against the strategy as well as confirm the appointment of Board Directors.

Following the success of the virtual AGM in 2021 – and as permitted by the changes made to the Article of Association at this meeting – the 2022 AGM will be hybrid with members given the option to participate in the meeting either via an online platform or by attending in person.

The in person meeting will be held at the Novotel Nottingham Derby Hotel, situated close to junction 25 of the M1.  We strongly encourage attendance in person as we will also be launching the new Strategy 2022-26 during the afternoon with this session presenting an excellent opportunity for our members to connect and network after what has been a very different 18-24 months.

The meeting will start at 10am and all of our members are welcome to attend with further details of the business of the AGM, including the virtual platform joining arrangements, the Agenda, and Voting by Proxy form, being posted on British Canoeing’s website on or before Friday 18th February 2022.

In keeping with previous AGMs, all members are entitled to submit a motion (a proposal to be voted on by the members) for the AGM agenda. Any motions for discussion at the Annual General Meeting must be signed by two Full Individual Members, entitled to vote in accordance with the British Canoeing Articles of Association.

In accordance with Article 17, motions should be lodged between 12 December 2021 and 12 January 2022 and these can be submitted via email to Nancy Squires, Head of Governance at British Canoeing ([email protected]) at any time during this period.

We look forward to seeing as many members as possible at the event!
